Does HackerTube require an account?

No HackerTube account is required to browse the original site or use its local likes, history and Watch later list. These lists are saved in the browser rather than attached to a login. They are not automatically the same on another device or browser profile.

How does HackerTube work without an account?

The current client stores lists in localStorage. A return visit in the same browser can read them again. Private sessions, storage restrictions or clearing site data can empty the list. Local storage describes where state is kept; it does not mean browsing generates no network requests.

Can a HackerTube account sync my saved videos?

The reviewed interface provides no account-based sync workflow. Keep important links in your own bookmarks before changing browsers or clearing data. A YouTube account is separate: signing into YouTube does not merge HackerTube lists. This Explorer site and the original domain also keep separate state.
